Alicia Keys will sing the national anthem at the upcoming Super Bowl XLVII on February 3 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
On Friday it was announced that Alicia Keys will kick off Super Bowl XLVII with the national anthem before Beyonce takes the Super Bowl stage for the halftime show. The national anthem marks the third appearance for Alicia Keys at the Super Bowl after last singing for the pre-game show in 2008 and performing “American the Beautiful” in 2005.
Although Keys has been enlisted three times for Super Bowl festivities, Super Bowl XLVII marks the second appearance by Beyonce who performed the Star Spangled Banner in 2004.
As Alicia Keys prepares for the national anthem, the Atlanta Falcons take on San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game this weekend while the New England Patriots square off against the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC conference. Keys is currently riding high on the release of her latest album “Girl on Fire” which was released back in November.
Alicia Keys will also perform at President Barack Obama’s inauguration ceremony on Monday.
