The full line-up of performers for the 2013 Coachella Music and Arts Festival was finally revealed for the two-weekend event in Indio, California.
The upcoming Coachella music festival line-up features 176 performers, bands, DJs, and long-time fan favorites. The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Stone Roses, Blur, Phoenix, Pusha T, New Order, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Lumineers, Vampire Weekend, and Bat for Lashes are just a few of the acts confirmed to play the Coachella stages between April 12-14 and 19-21.
Other acts on tap for Coachella include the newly reformed Jurassic 5, Modest Mouse, Moby, Lou Reed, Franz Ferdinand, Tegan and Sara, and the Wu-Tang Clan.
Although Coachella has long been a mecca for indie bands, top artists, and performers from around the world, the annual music fest faced a number of challenges prior to the 2013 line-up was confirmed. The location in Indio was finally given the go-ahead to continue the festival after promoters considered moving the event.
In 2012, Coachella made headlines when a performance by Snoop Dogg featured a projection of late rapper Tupac Shakur who performed “Hail Mary” and “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted”. Although the media reported that the technology used was a hologram, the projection was actually created using the Musion Eyeliner system.
