NBC’s new cop drama, “Shades of Blue,” starring Jennifer Lopez and Ray Liotta, has been renewed for a second season. The network confirmed last week after the series debuted as one of NBC’s strongest dramas in recent years. “Shades of Blue” has been a wild success for Jennifer Lopez in her first small screen drama role. The series also stars Drea de Matteo best known for her role in HBO’s “Sopranos” and FX’s “Son’s of Anarchy.”
NBC’s Entertainment President Jennifer Salke said, ““We want to thank Jennifer, who is the hardest working woman we know, for her incredible efforts as both the star and producer of this show, as well as well as our other amazing producers and cast for all their tireless work in creating one of the most compelling dramas on television today,” she added, “We’re so excited to find out where this story will lead and have them raise the stakes even higher in what we know will be a fantastic second season,” according to NBC’s press release.
As the first season of “Shades of Blue” has progressed, things got pretty twisted for Lopez being pinned against her own crew working as an FBI informant. Knowing there is a second season on the front, there’s a lot of opportunity for how this season ends and how the next season will unfold.
“Shades of Blue” airs on Thursday nights at 10 pm ET on NBC.
