The Discovery Channel’s 16 time Emmy Award-winning reality series, “Deadliest Catch” returns for it’s 12th season on March 29th. The new heart-pounding season has “a new generation is stepping up and claiming their seat at the table. But do they have the drive and guts that it takes to become a legend?,” according to the Discovery press release.
Captain Sig Hansen of the F/V Northwestern said, “When I look around at the new guys, there is a lot of opportunity but not a lot of promise,” adding, “I don’t see as much fear as I would have hoped to see. They don’t seem fearful because in their mind, there is nothing to fear. At sea, you find out what a guy is made out of. Not everyone makes the cut.”
There’s a new skipper in town this season and he’s the youngest skipper in the history of “Deadliest Catch.” Captain Sean Dwyer is the 23-year-old skipper of Brenna A. Jake Anderson has shifted from Sig Hansen’s crew and will take the helm for his first full season on the Saga.
Josh Harris returns to the helm of Cornelia Marie and the stakes are high. After an overhaul of the fishing vessel with all new electronics and engine room, Jake had to sell a majority of the boat to investors in order to pay for the repairs. If he can’t find the crab, he may be replaced by a skipper who can.
The crews from Cape Caution, The Wizard and Time Bandit also return for the new season. Don’t miss the season 12 premiere of “Deadliest Catch” on Tuesday, March 29th at 9 pm ET on the Discovery Channel.
