After just two episodes aired, Showtime network has already announce the renewal of “Billions” for season 2. That’s good news because for those of us who watched the first two episodes were immediately sucked in. It’s a commitment already.
“Billions” had the largest series debut with 6.5 million (not BILLION) viewers, since the series premiere of Ray Donovan in July 2013.
“Starring Oscar nominee and Emmy and Golden Globe® winner Paul Giamatti and Emmy and Golden Globe winner Damian Lewis, BILLIONS is a 21st-century examination of the profit and peril of chasing the American dream. The series is a bold, contemporary drama that melds the worlds of ultra-wealth, influence and corruption as personified in two highly ambitious opposing figures: hard-charging, blue-blooded, politically connected U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti) and brilliant, calculating, blue-collar billionaire hedge fund king, Bobby “Axe” Axelrod (Damian Lewis). Set amongst the Machiavellian machinations of New York City power politics and finance, BILLIONS weaves a complex, intricate narrative featuring a high-stakes game of predator-versus-prey. BILLIONS is created, written and executive produced by Brian Koppelman and David Levien (Ocean’s Thirteen, Rounders). The series is also created and executive produced by Andrew Ross Sorkin (Too Big To Fail).” – Showtime press release
“Billion” is a must-see series on Showtime. If you don’t have Showtime, you should sign up on the app and sign up just for this series (but ‘Homeland’ too).
