Netflix announced that one of America’s favorite comedians, Jerry Seinfeld, also a creator, producer, writer and performer is making Netflix his exclusive home for future comedic projects. The partnership is a multi-faceted production deal which will begin in 2017.
Part of the deal is all new episodes of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee will be released exclusively on Netflix later in 2017, in addition to all previous episodes of the Emmy-nominated series.
In addition to Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, “Seinfeld will also film two, all-new stand-up shows exclusively for Netflix members globally, the first arriving on the world’s leading Internet TV network later this year. Seinfeld will help develop scripted and non-scripted comedy programming for Netflix, with additional elements of the deal will be announced later,” says the Netflix press release.
“Jerry is known the world over as both a great TV innovator and beloved comic voice,” said Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer at Netflix. “We are incredibly proud to welcome him to the Netflix comedy family.”
This is amazing news. Not only will we be seeing new Jerry Seinfeld stand-up material, but Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee is definitely a binge-worthy series, to you know…Netflix & chill.
