NBC is rounding out its highly successful Chicago franchise from superproducer Dick Wolf with the series premiere of “Chicago Justice” on March 5th.
A preview aired on Wednesday following a crossover event between “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago P.D.” that introduced a storyline which seamlessly flows into “Chicago Justice.” “Just like their brethren in the Chicago P.D., the State’s Attorney’s dedicated team of prosecutors and investigators navigate heated city politics and controversy head-on, while fearlessly pursuing justice,” says NBC’s press release.
Philip Winchester stars in the show as prosecutor Peter Stone, the ambitious Assistant State’s Attorney and Deputy Chief of the Special Prosecutions Bureau. Stone is the son of renowned New York City District Attorney Ben Stone (from “Law & Order”), and he’s on a relentless quest for justice, however he’s shooting at a target that only he can see. Consequently, he often finds himself conflicting with Cook County State’s Attorney, Mark Jefferies, played by Carl Weathers.
The “Chicago Justice” cast also stars Monica Barbaro, Joelle Carter, and Jon Seda, formerly on “Chicago P.D.”
The series will premiere in it’s normal 9 pm timeslot on Sunday, March 5 on NBC.
