STARZ announced it has picked up the critically-acclaimed original series “American Gods” for a second season. The series premieres just a couple weeks ago on April 30 and has garnered millions of viewers.
“Adapted from the award-winning novel, “American Gods” posits a different kind of war brewing—one between Old Gods and New. The traditional Old Gods, with mythological roots from around the world, fear irrelevance as their believers die off or are seduced by the money, technology, and celebrity offered by the New Gods,” says STARZ press release.
The cast of “American Gods” stars Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane, Emily Browning, and Pablo Schreiber. Carmi Zlotnik, president of programming for Starz, said, “Bryan Fuller, Michael Green and Neil Gaiman have evolved the art form of television narratively, structurally and graphically with ‘American Gods,’ and we’re thrilled to be working again with these artists as they continue to build the worlds and wars of the gods,” in the press release.
“American Gods” is currently airing season one with new episodes on Sundays at 9 pm ET on STARZ.
