NBC is highlighting the beginning of the road to the Triple Crown, this Saturday, May 5 with live broadcast of the 144th Kentucky Derby at 2:30 pm ET.
NBC Sports record-setting coverage for the first time will use an an aerial camera over the full backstretch, which will offer a perspective of 15-18 feet above the track and travel up to 80 MPH, and more than 50 additional cameras. The outrider will wear a helmet camera escorting the winning horse and jockey to the winner’s circle.
Commentators for NBC’s Kentucky Derby coverage on Saturday, May 5 feature Bob Costas, Mike Tirico, Laffit Pincay III, analysts Randy Moss and Jerry Bailey and more.
The Kentucky Derby live broadcast begins at 2:30 pm ET on NBC.
