On whether he's signed on for Speed Racer sequels:
"I would definitely like to do another, just because the experience was so much fun. And if there were to be more Speed Racers, there would be a really cool arc to play."
Fox on whether he likes the commitment of Lost and how a potential Speed Racer sequel work with the schedule:
"Actually no. After Lost is over, I'm not going to do television anymore, only because it does take up so much of the year."
On whether he'll do more TV and what he plans to do after Lost:
"No. I'll either be doing films or doing nothing. Let me put it that way, [it's] just because I've done two shows that have ran six years. I'm now doing films and a show, and it’s just not leaving a lot of time or control over my life and spending time with the people that I love. So after Lost is over, I would like a situation where, if I get involved in a project, after three months, it’s done. I'm unemployed, and I can either chose to stay unemployed or look for the next project.
Whether he plans to still live in Hawaii:
"No, we're going to be moving on. We're going to be moving to Oregon. I want to be closer with my brothers and their children. We've been talking about that for a while. You know, we all have kids and we really want our kids to have those first cousin relationships that are tight, and that they spend time growing up together."
Fox on relocating and living outside of Hollywood:
"I'm just tired of living in a huge city, frankly. I lived in New York for many years, and then Los Angeles. There are many positive things about L.A. - we didn't really live in L.A., it was more the South Bay, and it's a beautiful place to live. But traffic is something that really kinda drives me nuts, and I also just want a little bit more of a feeling of freedom and expansiveness, and just not to be in a big city anymore."
On whether it's still difficult to do movies in between TV seasons:
"It used to be like that, but now, not so much. And I've done four films over the past two years, and the opportunities that I've been getting in the film world - that's the reason why I've been working so hard; is that they're just opportunities that I can't pass up. They're just great opportunities to work with really good directors and great casts. I haven't committed this hiatus to doing anything yet. I'm looking at some things, but I've been working non-stop for two years now. So I think it might be a really good time for me to take three months and just spend it with my kids and my wife and my brothers and my friends, and just do some stuff outside of the business for a few months."
On how the medium of television has evolved in recent years:
"I think that you can take more chances on television. I think the film industry, certainly the studio film industry, is getting to a point where these movies are gigantic; they're very big. They cost a lot to make and they are global films now and the global market for films is every bit as important as the domestic demand - maybe even more. So when you make movies that are that big, I think it's a little harder to do really interesting, specific writing, and I think that some of the concepts that have come up on television - Lost being one of them - or a show like Deadwood or something like that, isn't a show that would have really been made, I don't think, ten years ago. People are just taking a little more chances in that arena."
Fox on whether he was disappointed about doing so much green screen work and so many stunts:
"Oh, I did a lot of stunts. I have two fight sequences in the film that are all me. I didn't have anybody double me. I like to do my own stunts - and particularly with Larry and Andy Wachowski and with the stunt co-ordinators Chad and Dave who did all The Matrix stuff - I knew I was working with these people who really know how to do fight sequences. They're amazing, and I trained for six weeks on these sequences. And if I do all the stunts myself, then Larry and Andy can shoot it in a much cooler way. If they had to double me, they would be much more restricted on how cool they could shoot the sequence. So that's why I really wanted to make sure that I could do everything myself so I wouldn't have to be doubled anywhere, and I did it."
On the music he listens to:
"I'm crazy about music. The National, and the new Radiohead album I think is really great and also Babyshambles - Shattered Nation, it’s fricking a killer record. I know that guy's had a rough go of it here, but I'll tell you what, it's a very, very good record. I'm really very happy that it's a good record."
