Two-time National coach of the year Kelvin Sampson is expected to take over the head coach job of the Indiana Hoosiers. The job became vacant when Mike David resigned earlier this month, after the Hoosiers loss to Gonzaga. Dvaid announced on Feb. 14th that he would not stay with the club past this year's NCAA post-season. Mike David had taken to Indiana head coaching job in 2000, when Bob Knight left.

Kelvin Sampson had been the coach of the Oklahoma Sooners for 12 years and sported a 259-109 record during his time there. According to USA Today, "Sampson has posted nine consecutive 20-win seasons at Oklahoma including a 20-9 record last season". As well, Sampson has made the post-season for the past 13 years, including all 12 of his years in Oklahoma. By comparison, the Indiana Hoosiers went 19-12 this season.

Oklahoma was eliminated in the first-round this year, in a match-up with Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
