Kid Rock off the hook for Tommy Lee scrap
October 30, 2007

Despite a highly-publicized smackdown delivered to Tommy Lee by Kid Rock at the MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas last month, Pamela Anderson's second ex-husband will not have charges laid against him by Anderson's first ex-hubbie.

On Monday, the Clark County District Attorney's Office announced that it would not press charges against Kid Rock, after the office noted that Tommy Lee had no desire to pursue the matter. E Online quoted a statement from Chief Deputy D.A. Ron Bloxham that noted prosecutors "will not pursue a battery charge against Robert James Ritchie, aka Kid Rock, involving a confrontation with Tommy Lee on Sept. 9, 2007, at Palms Hotel and Casino."

The statement from the D.A. continued, "It should be noted that Tommy Lee has requested that there be no prosecution relating to the incident and there were no injuries to either person."

The incident in question occurred during the MTV Video Music Awards while Alicia Keys performed on stage, just feet from where the tussle broke out. Kid Rock was cited by the Las Vegas Police Department for battery after the incident, while Kid Rock went on to describe as "white-on-white crime. Rock told the KROQ-FM's Kevin and Bean Show that, "It's been going on for five years. I did what any man would do, any man across the country, across the world would do." Rock added, "It kills me just to be associated with, just to have my name in a sentence with him, it honestly destroys me."

The incident with Tommy Lee isn't the only time this year Kid Rock has had a problem throwing fisticuffs. Last weekend in Atlanta, Kid Rock and his entourage were involved in a scuffle which saw the rocker and five other persons arrested for battery. Rock was released on a $1,000 bail the following day.
