Britney Spears Heads Back to Court
October 30, 2007

On the same day that her highly anticipated new CD, Blackout, hits stores, it's being reported that Britney Spears is heading back to an arena that she's even more familiar with than the world of music - the courtroom. E! is reporting that newly released court documents show that Britney Spears requested last week that a court order that demands that the pop princess undergo twice-a-week random drug testing in her custody battle with Kevin Federline be terminated or modified. Maybe twice a week is too much for BritBrit.

On Friday, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline faced off in court in the latest battle over sons Sean Preston and Jayden James. Britney Spears is looking for shared custody of the two-year-old and one-year-old, according to E! She's hoping for the reinstatement of shared custody of the two kids she had with K-Fed, but if that doesn't happen she still wants overnight visits with the boys reinstated. And, at the same time, she's asking for LESS drug testing. Does this make sense to you?

Fox reports that Britney Spears arrived in the Los Angeles court on Friday in a Mercedes-Benz and giggled when reporters asked her why she was there. They note that Britney was escorted by sheriff's deputies and that Spears wore a black print dress and cowgirl boots. Kevin Federline arrived a few minutes after Spears and wore a gray pinstriped suit. The hearing itself was closed to the media, as per the request of the attorney for Britney Spears, Sorrell Trope.

According to court documents obtained by E!, the parenting coach for Britney Spears, a woman she's been seeing since the custody battle with Kevin Federline began, was sworn in on Friday to testify about Brit's parenting skills. The website reports that papers by Lisa Hacker, the parenting coach, were also submitted as evidence. The attorney for Britney Spears, Sorrell Trope, tells People that the report contained "some negative things, and some positive, but the beneficial things far outweighed the negative."

Court Commissioner Scott M. Gordon was expected to release a ruling on the modifications of both the custody situation and the drug testing some time today. Maybe he had to go listen to Blackout first. Keep it locked on The Deadbolt for the latest on the custody battle between Britney Spears and Kevin Federline over Sean Preston and Jayden James.
