Britney’s limited visitation rights
October 31, 2007
As is the case these days with just about every Britney Spears related headline, this one won't be going away any time soon. If anything, this Britney story is just ramping up and we haven’t even gotten to the Spears - Federline divorce proceedings. If the latest turn of events is any indication of what's ahead for Spears, Britney is going to have a tough time getting her kids back and her like in order since the custody hearings revealed that Spears now has less of a hold on Sean Preston and Jayden James than ever before.
The latest reports to come out of the Britney Spears - Kevin Federline child custody battle have reduced access to two daytime visits and one night visit with her sons per week. According to BBC, Scott Gordon, the same Los Angeles County court official who criticized Britney Spears and her motherly instincts at a hearing in September 2007, handed down a new ruling on Tuesday, October 30, 2007.
Outlined in the new, ruling Britney Spears was granted two afternoons and one full night a week with her kids. Those visits are on the condition of Spears adhering to the courts recommendations, which include working out a visitation schedule with Kevin Federline, childproofing her home, and the use child car seats when transporting the Sean Preston and Jayden James in her vehicle.
Given all of the negative press that Britney has endured (or brought down on herself) the final blow in court came from her own parenting coach, Lisa Hacker, who revealed that Britney Spears did indeed love her two sons very much, but she has a long road ahead of her. The most damaging portion of the assessment came when Hacker revealed, "It seems that her choices are dependent more upon what she wants to do at any given time rather than what would be more enjoyable for the children."
