Britney and Kevin: Emergency Court Hearing
November 16, 2007

For Britney Spears, given her ongoing custody case and court appearances with former hubby Kevin Federline, 2007 must seem like a nightmare she can't wake up from. On Friday morning, attorneys for both Spears and Federline appeared in an L.A. court for an emergency 90-minute hearing regarding Kevin Federline's recent order to prevent Britney from driving with their kids in the car after Spears' recent vehicular troubles.

According to TMZ, Britney Spears has been prevented from driving her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, around town while her court visits are being monitored. The motion was approved by Court Commissioner Scott M. Gordon while Federline attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan confirmed that "orders were made". The emergency hearing stems from recent footage taken in the last week that shows Britney Spears running a red light on Mulholland Drive with her kids in the car and text-messaging while behind the wheel. All of the impromtu Britney buzz comes on the custody heels of an original order for Spears to appear in court on November 26, which is still in effect after today's hearing. Given Britney's latest actions after their custody battle, Kevin Federline mobilized his lawyers and took action since Britney continues to drive wrecklessly with her two sons in the car.

Britney's troubles were further complicated last week when Spears was also spotted wearing dark sunglasses at night while driving her two sons around town and then accidentally rolling over a photographer's foot. If that's enough during a heated custody case, TMZ also reports that Friday's hearing would also address the recent court ordered drug tests that were imposed on Britney, but no further word was given on what other issues took place in the hearing.

For most of 2007 (if not all), Britney Spears has beem mired in controversy, a rollover from 2006 when she parted ways with former hubby Kevin Federline. Last month, Britney lost custody of her two sons, but was granted one overnight visit per week with court monitored supervision.
