ONE SHEET: Get Smart
November 16, 2007

Thanks to our friends at Warner Bros., we've just been given a heads up on the one-sheet for the upcoming Peter Segal directed Get Smart remake, starring Steve Carell, Dwayne Johnson, Alan Arkin, Masi Oka, and Anne Hathaway. If you remember the original with Don Adams, Steve Carell might just be the perfect guy to introduce Maxwell Smart to a new generation of fans.

Here's the latest to come down the pipe on Get Smart...

GET SMART

In the all-new action comedy "Get Smart," Maxwell Smart (Steve Carell) is on a mission to thwart the latest plot for world domination by the evil crime syndicate known as KAOS.

When the headquarters of U.S. spy agency Control is attacked and the identities of its agents compromised, the Chief (Alan Arkin) has no choice but to promote his ever-eager analyst Maxwell Smart, who has always dreamt of working in the field alongside stalwart superstar Agent 23 (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson). Smart is partnered instead with the only other agent whose identity has not been compromised: the lovely-but-lethal veteran Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway). As Smart and 99 get closer to unraveling KAOS’ master plan - and each other - they discover that key KAOS operative Siegfried (Terence Stamp) and his sidekick Shtarker (Kenneth Davitian) are scheming to cash in with their network of terror. Given little field experience and even less time, Smart - armed with nothing but a few spy-tech gadgets and his unbridled enthusiasm - must defeat KAOS if he is to save the day.

Inspired by the classic television series, the film also stars Masi Oka (TV’s "Heroes") and Nate Torrence (TV’s "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip") as Control’s crackerjack analysts Bruce and Lloyd; David Koechner ("Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy") as Agent Larabee; and Terry Crews (TV’s "Everybody Hates Chris") as Agent 91.

"Get Smart" is being directed by Peter Segal ("The Longest Yard," "Tommy Boy") from a screenplay by Tom J. Astle & Matt Ember ("Failure to Launch"). Andrew Lazar ("Space Cowboys"), Charles Roven ("Batman Begins") and Alex Gartner ("The Upside of Anger") are producing, with Michael Ewing ("50 First Dates"), Dana Goldberg ("Happy Feet"), Peter Segal, Jimmy Miller ("Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby"), Steve Carell, Brent O’Connor ("We Are Marshall") and Bruce Berman ("Happy Feet") serving as executive producers.

Joining the director behind the scenes are Academy Award-winning director of photography Dean Semler ("Dances with Wolves"), production designer Wynn Thomas ("A Beautiful Mind"), Oscar-nominated editor Richard Pearson ("United 93"), Academy Award-winning costume designer Deborah Scott ("Titanic") and Academy Award-winning special effects supervisor Michael Lantieri ("Jurassic Park").

"Get Smart" is a Warner Bros. Pictures presentation, in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, of a Mosaic Media Group / Mad Chance / Callahan Filmworks production. The film will be released by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, and in select territories by Village Roadshow Pictures.
