Jennie Garth Gets Boot On Dancing
November 21, 2007

In a shocking upset, Jennie Garth was left off the final list of Dancing With the Stars contestants, getting the boot this week from fans, even after the judges gave her a perfect score. Jennie Garth finishes in fourth place and leaves Marie Osmond, Melanie Brown and Helio Castroneves to compete for the final prize for this very highly rated season. Many thought Garth was a shoo-in for the finals and most considered Marie Osmond the weakest dancer this week, but she seems to have become a fan favorite. The question is, even if Helio Castroneves and Melanie Brown dance a perfect dance, as Jennie Garth did this week, can they beat Osmond?

Jennie Garth appeared on Good Morning America today and said, "We had so much fun dancing together. It's bittersweet because we both really tried. I think [we are] excited to go back to our real lives. But it was such a fun journey." Partner Derek Hough added, "She's accomplished everything there was to accomplish. She's learned every dance there is to learn. She's done two encore dances and a perfect score. So, mission accomplished. She's amazing."

It really was a transformative season for Jennie Garth on Dancing With the Stars. She came in with no self-confidence and left with her head held high. Garth said this morning, "I think I - probably more than anyone - [I] started at ground zero as far as dancing experience and performing experience. This was such a huge thing for me to accomplish as much as we did and get as far as we did."

So, who wins? Derek Hough naturally thinks his sister, Julianne Hough, and her partner Helio Castroneves have the advantage. He said on GMA, "No offense to Helio, but Helio could stand there in the middle of the floor and she could dance around him, and they would still win. She's an amazing dancer. She knows how to work it." Maybe they should call it "Dancing Around the Stars"?
