After two gargantuan movies, Disney's biggest franchise of the early millenium finally closes its doors (for now) with Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. How big has the Pirates franchise been for Disney? After the success of the Dead Man's Chest, Disney laid off a quarter of its work force. Although some fans have complained that At World's End was needlessly too long for its own good, the movie was both lighthearted and oddly bizarre as Jack Sparrow was rescued from Davy Jones' Locker to face the almighty Bretheren Court to keep the pirate way of life intact. Along the way, all the questions we've had about Will Turner, Elizabeth, Barbossa, Davy Jones, and Jack Sparrow get answered in the final installment of Disney's huge money making machine. Remember all of the hype surrounding Keith Richards and his role in At World's End? Trust me, it's one of the finest best casting moves in years.

How can you pick a best feature from a disc that has hours upon hours of entertainment value? Really, you won't be disappointed whatsoever since the extras are cut from the same cloth as the previous releases of the first two movies. Be sure to check out the "Anatomy of a Scene: The Maelstrom," which gives the complete lowdown on the amazing ship-to-ship clash between The Black Pearl and The Flying Dutchman. If you didn't know, it's the biggest action sequence ever attempted. What you thought was CGI isn't what it appears to be. The very first feature on Disc 2 called "Keith & Captain: On Set with Johnny Depp and the Rock Legend" is one of the shortest extras of the entire set, but it's arguably one of the best, as Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards kicks back with Johnny Depp. If you've been waiting to see Keith, here's your chance to go behind the scenes. Although the extras will definitely keep you busy until the new year, make sure you also check out "Inside the Brethren Court" to get the back story scoop on all of the Pirate mafia bosses. You'll be surprised where some of them come from.

If we HAVE to choose, "The World Chow Yun-Fat"... way too short, subtitled, and most of the info comes from former Prison Break actor Reggie Lee.
Whether or not you should pick this DVD up and add it to your collection is a no-brainer. It's just as great as the DVD releases of Curse of the Black Pearl and Dead Man's Chest. Hell, if you're not into the whole Pirates craze, it'll make the perfect Christmas gift, but you already know that. Although some had complaints about the complexity of the story and length of the film, At World's End is an amazing technical achievement worth seeing for that fact alone.
