After James McAvoy's stirring performance in Atonement, Christina Ricci's memorable role in Black Snake Moan, and Reese Witherspoon's part in Gavin Hood's 2007 film Rendition, the three actors will next be seen together in the magical, fairytale-like Penelope, which hits theaters in February 2008.

Featuring a whimsical blend of fantasy, romance, drama, and offbeat comedy, Penelope tells the tale of a young woman named Penelope (Christina Ricci} who's afflicted by an old family spell and cursed by a physical disformity that can only be healed when she falls in love. After falling head over heels for a man with a hidden agenda (James McAvoy), the lonely Penelope flees the confines of her parent's estate in favor of the real world where she soon discovers life is very much like an unknown wonderland. Once on her own, Penelope is befriended by a lovely young woman (Reese Witherspoon) who helps her maneouver her way through the challenges of life in an often cruel yet beautiful society.

Slated to hit theaters on February 29, 2008, Penelope is being hailed as an inspiring journey about a mysterious family secret and the power of love.
