In a crazy age where even the most bizarre celebrity headline couldn't shock the most seasoned gossip hound, the latest news to come off the celebrity tabloid assembly line reveals that Jamie Lynn Spears, the 16 year old sister of Britney Spears, is pregnant. That's right, Jamie Lynn Spears not Britney. Although rumors were running rampant only weeks ago that Britney might be pregnant, it's safe to assume that no one saw this one coming.

According to E Online, Jamie Lynn Spears confirmed the pregnancy news to OK! magazine, revealing that she is indeed expecting a child with longtime boyfriend Casey Aldridge. The report goes on to state that both the younger Spears and her boyfriend were shocked at the news and that the arrival of the stork on her doorstep was completely unexpected.

As for how the parents of Britney and Jamie Lynn are taking the news, according to US magazine and a source close to the family, "Their father Jamie is 'furious' with Jamie Lynn and ex-wife Lynne for selling the story of her pregnancy to OK! magazine." On the maternal side of the fence, E News reports on the reaction of Lynne Spears, as she revealed her feelings to OK!, "I didn't believe it because Jamie Lynn's always been so conscientious. She's never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby."

According to reports, it appears that Jamie Lynn Spears is looking to raise the child in Louisiana, beyond the glaring grasp of the media in L.A. Despite the unexpected pregnancy, while talking to OK!, Jamie Lynn took time to offer the following advice to young teens, "I definitely don't think it's something you should do; it's better to wait. But I can't be judgmental because it's a position I put myself in."
