Mischa Barton Busted For DUI

We couldn't end 2007 without another young starlet getting busted behind the wheel as Mischa Barton, the former star of Fox's The O.C. was pulled over this morning and arrested for DUI. According to E!, the 21-year-old star was arrested early this morning in West Hollywood and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence, possessing an illegal narcotic and driving with an invalid license. The story was busted by a newcomer to the gossip game, hollyscoop.com, who first reported that Mischa Barton was pulled over in her white Range Rover at the corner of La Cienega and Santa Monica Boulevards at 2:46am this morning.

TMZ jumped on the Mischa Barton arrest immediately and they reportedly got their hands on an arrest report already that claims that the former TV star was booked at 3:10am at the nearby Sherriff's Department station. From the sound of it, Mischa Barton may still be in custody, as of around 9am Los Angeles time. She's being held on $10,000 bail, according to E! There has been no comment yet from anyone in the camp of Mischa Barton, but we're sure her publicists and attorneys are having a busy morning. Interestingly, Mischa Barton is supposed to open the new CatHouse nightclub in Las Vegas this Saturday and the rep for them told E! that the DUI arrest hasn't changed anything and that Barton is still "all set and ready to go." One DUI can't get you cut from a club opening any more. You need at least two.

Mischa Barton had small roles in films like The Sixth Sense and Notting Hill and appeared on TV as a child actress as young as ten in All My Children and a remake of Bonnie and Clyde. She then guest appeared on the ABC series Once and Again with Evan Rachel Wood for eight episodes and guest starred in some music videos, but it was her breakthrough in August 2003 on The O.C. that made her a star. She left the show three years later and it was canceled a year after that. Barton has also been a model for companies like Calvin Klein, Bebe, Aeropostale, JC, Jaspal, Neutrogena, and many more.
