Fergie and Duhamel Are Engaged
December 27, 2007
Sorry Fergie fans. She's off the market. The "Fergalicious" singer got engaged to Josh Duhamel over the weekend, as confirmed to E! News. They report that the star of Las Vegas and Transformers popped the question to the breakout star of 2007 who has had both a successful solo album and worked with the Black Eyed Peas. There's no word yet on when Fergie and Josh Duhamel will actually wed. Stacy Ferguson (the real name of Fergie) is 32 and Josh Duhamel is 35 and the two met in September of 2004 when the singer guest-starred on Las Vegas.
Ironically, Fergie told Blender earlier this month that she was in no hurry to get married because she was "practically married, anyway" to Josh Duhamel. At the time, Fergie said about Josh Duhamel, "I'm madly in love with him. He understands how to treat a woman and give me respect."
Fergie broke through last year with The Dutchess, an album that produced hits this year too, but she's already working on a quick follow-up and trying to stay hot as long as possible. Fergie has even signed to cover "Beat It" on the upcoming 25th anniversary edition of Thriller, according to E! The Dutchess produced five hits and went triple platinum, becoming one of the biggest selling albums of 2007. Singles from The Dutchess include "London Bridge," "Fergalicious," "Glamorous," "Big Girls Don't Cry," and "Clumsy" - all top five singles on the U.S. charts.
Josh Duhamel was a regular on All My Children, for which he won a Daytime Emmy for in 2002 and he successfully switched to primetime and film with NBC's Las Vegas and roles in Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!, Turistas, and Transformers.
