Nicole Kidman IS Pregnant!

After months of false reports and innuendo about the possibility of actress Nicole Kidman being pregant, the fact is that as of today the news is true. According to Extra, which confirmed the news late Monday afternoon, a representative for Kidman told the outlet, "Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban confirmed today that they are expecting a baby. The couple are thrilled." Well, Nicole Kidman fans, there you have it.

Although the news isn't shocking in any way, shape, or form, hardcore fans, gossip hounds, and several tabloids have been seemingly "willing" the pregnancy to happen ever since Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban became a couple in 2005. Case in point was one of the many overblown stories from 2006 in which an unnamed eyewitness said that they spotted Nicole Kidman leaving Yoga class with "quite a belly," which subsequently fuelled worldwide speculation that Kidman was pregnant.

The only thing we can say is congratulations to the mom-to-be and thank God Nicole Kidman is actually pregant so we can take a break from the rumors for the next nine months.

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii and raised in Sydney, Australia, Nicole Kidman made her American film debut in Days of Thunder where she met her former husband and now megastar Tom Cruise, who was married to actress Mimi Rogers at the time. After nearly a decade of marriage, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman ended their marriage in 2001. Since then, Nicole Kidman has gone on to star in such films as The Hours with Meryl Streep and Julianne Moore, The Human Stain with Anthony Hopkins, Cold Mountain with Jude Law and Renee Zellweger, and Bewitched with former Saturday Night Live cast member Will Ferrell.

Next for the actress could be director Kar Wai Wong's The Lady from Shanghai, in which Kidman would play a mysterious woman from Shanghai who has an affair with a spy. Although Kidman hasn't officially committed to the film, The Lady from Shanghai is tentatively slated for a 2009 release.
