Toni Collette Has Baby Girl
January 11, 2008
Oscar nominee and all-around great actress, Toni Collette has given birth to her first child, a baby girl, according to reports released today. The star of The Sixth Sense and Little Miss Sunshine gave birth on Wednesday to Sage Florence Galafassi, the daughter she had with husband Dave Galafassi. Toni Collette gave birth in her native Sydney and a spokeswoman said in a statement that "Both mother and baby are very well and very happy."
Toni Collette and Dave Galafassi have been married for five years and the two announced their pregnancy last July with Toni telling the press that they were "completely over the moon." Toni Collette has long leaned towards motherhood in her films, telling E!, "It is strange that in the last three films I've done I have been pregnant. I'm just like, 'What is the universe trying to tell me?' But I think everything happens when it's meant to."
Toni Collette won't hit the big screen again until Hey Hey It's Esther Blueburger and The Black Balloon, two Australian movie set for release in that country in March. The 35-year-old Toni Collette broke through in Muriel's Wedding in 1994 and went on to star in The Pallbearer, Emma, Clockwatchers, The Boys, Velvet Goldmine, 8 1/2 Women, The Sixth Sense, Shaft, Changing Lanes, About a Boy, The Hours, Japanese Story, Connie and Carla, The Last Shot, In Her Shoes, The Night Listener, Little Miss Sunshine, The Dead Girl, Evening, and HBO's Tsunami: The Aftermath.
