Matthew McConaughey To Have Child

Always playing the perpetually immature character, Matthew McConaughey is going to have to grow up and play daddy now as his girlfriend, Brazilian model Camila Alves, is expecting a child. Matthew McConaughey wrote on his website, "My girlfriend Camila and I made a baby together. It's 3 months growin in her womb and all looks healthy and lively so far. We are stoked and wowed by this miracle of creation and this gift from God, and so excited for the adventure that will come in raising this child, being mother and a father, and shepherding him or her through this life."

This is the first child for the 38-year-old Matthew McConaughey, even though he has been linked with Sandra Bullock, Penelope Cruz, and Ashley Judd in the past. McConaughey and Cruz were linked for two years. McConaughey was jokingly linked to his buddy Lance Armstrong, about whom he quipped to Details in 2006 that they had tried to date but it didn't work out.

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves have been together for a little over a year. He wrote on Tuesday, "Wish us the best, keep us in your prayers, and God bless evolution. Thanks for being fans of me and my work and now this new and miraculous chapter in my life, as me and Camila and our child do our best to just keep living."

Matthew McConaughey will next be seen in ANOTHER romantic comedy with Kate Hudson called Fool's Gold, opening on February 8th. The Texan broke through in Dazed and Confused and went on to star in Boys on the Side, Lone Star, A Time to Kill, Contact, Amistad, The Newton Boys, EdTV, U-571, The Wedding Planner, Thirteen Conversations About One Thing, Frailty, Reign of Fire, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Sahara, Two For the Money, Failure to Launch, and We Are Marshall. He has also finished shooting Surfer Dude and Tropic Thunder.
