Amy Winehouse Caught Smoking Crack
January 22, 2008
The Amy Winehouse death watch continues as a film has reportedly surfaced showing the very troubled singer smoking crack. The Sun posted the video of Amy Winehouse doing drugs on their website. In the video, you can see Amy Winehouse claiming that she taken six valium that day and lighting a pipe and inhaling. It gets worse. The video wasn't from a pre-rehab Amy Winehouse. The Sun reports that it was filmed just last Friday at her London home. The agent for Amy Winehouse and the Metropolitan Police have both refused to comment on the claims made by The Sun.
The record company that released Amy Winehouse's acclaimed Back to Black did have something to say. Universal claimed that they are "deeply disappointed and upset by these latest revelations and are doing everything we can to offer Amy our full support in dealing with her problems."
The Sun reported that Amy Winehouse "took hit after hit of the deadly drug after a 19-minute binge in which she snorted powdered ecstasy and cocaine." They also claim that Winehouse took the video footage early in the morning on last Friday, January 18th. It's very grainy footage that appears to have been taken on a camera phone, but there is a date and time in the corner that makes it look like it was filmed on a video camera.
Amy Winehouse has to go back to court in Bergen, Norway on February 29th to appeal a fine for possession of marijuana. She is supposed to perform next on February 10th with Mark Ronson at the Grammy Awards. We'll have to see how that goes.
