Dolly Parton Postpones Tour Because of Her Breasts
February 11, 2008
Dolly Parton may be very well-known for her gigantic breasts but they've caused her enough pain that she has had to cancel her tour. The 62-year-old country icon said today that she was postponing her upcoming North American tour after her doctors told her to take it easy for six to eight weeks to deal with the sore back that comes from her enormous breasts. No, this story is not a joke. As reported by Reuters, Dolly Parton said in a statement, "Hey, you try wagging these puppies around a while and see if you don't have back problems."
The Dolly Parton tour was supposed to start on February 28 in Minneapolis, two days after the release of Backwoods Barbie, the first recording of new Parton country material in 17 years. Dolly Parton still hopes to hit the road but won't be a able to until late April. Once again, that's because of her bust. If you think we're making fun of a light situation, Dolly Parton received a songwriters award in New York last year and noted that she was known for two things throughout her career. After a long pause, she said, "I'm talking about my music and my lyrics."
Dolly Parton is already a member of both the country music and songwriters hall of fame. She released a series of bluegrass albums starting in 1999 and has gone through a comeback because of them. Reuters claims that Dolly wasn't really welcome at mainstream country radio stations any more and so she delved into bluegrass. The three releases garnered widespread critical acclaim and helped her turn into even more of an icon. We hope Dolly Parton can start her tour in late April as planned and her breasts don't hold her back any more.
