Dog To Return to the Air

Dog the Bounty Hunter has been forgiven for his racist rants by the network that made him, as A&E has announced that Duane "Dog" Chapman will return to reality TV after only three months off the air. Dog the Bounty Hunter was pulled off the air after a controversy around the star's use of a racial slur but, yesterday, the network announced that the charismatic reality icon is coming back. Dog the Bounty Hunter left A&E last November after Chapman used a racial slur in a private phone call that he didn't know was being recorded. After the call hit the internet, the words that Chapman chose to describe his son's black girlfriend caused A&E to have to pull one of their biggest shows.

The tape had been sold to The National Enquirer for a reported $15,000. Duane "Dog" Chapman hit the airwaves quickly, apologizing repeatedly and tearfully for using the n-word in a heated phone call. He admitted that he had interfered in his son's life and claimed that he was very sorry and that he still loved his son.

Variety reports that A&E hasn't started production on a new season of Dog the Bounty Hunter yet but that it will start soon and an airdate still hasn't been scheduled. A statement from the network, quoted by Variety, said, "Over the last few months, Duane "Dog" Chapman has taken and continues to take the appropriate steps in reaching out to several African American organizations in an effort to make amends for his private comments to his son which were released publicly. Since the premise of "Dog The Bounty Hunter" is about second chances - we have decided to give him one."

Duane "Dog" Chapman is 55 years old and has 12 children and has been married 5 times. Wow. He rose to fame in 2003 after he tracked down and captured serial rapist Andrew Luster in Mexico. A reality TV star was born. The show is broadcast in more than 10 countries and was one of the biggest hits for A&E when it was pulled from the air. Expect it back very soon.
