Survivor Strategy with Micronesia Fan Mikey B

by Troy Rogers

After four weeks of Survivor Micronesia: Fans vs Favorites, the voting record is equal for both tribes since two members from each side have been sent home from the island. First there was the stunning exit of Johnny Fairplay in week one, then real estate hottie Mary Sartain in week two, followed close behind by fan favorite Yau-Man Chan in week three. In week four of Survivor Micronesia, aspiring actor/writer Mikey B had his torch extinguished after being bamboozled by a sinister plot hatched by Tracy and Joel.

The morning after Mikey B's on-screen expulsion, The Deadbolt caught up with the most recent cast-off on a conference call to hear how he felt about leaving the game, his alliance (or non-alliance) with Joel, whether he ever tried to get on Exile Island, and who he'd like to see become the sole survivor.

Mikey B. on whether he ever thought of getting on Exile Island to find the immunity idol:

"My God, yeah. Jason and I actually shot coconuts to see who was going to go to Exile Island if the opportunity came. Jason hit his shot and I missed mine. So if we had won, he was going to Exile Island. He and I were also the only two who wanted to go to Exile Island."

On the decision to keep sending Kathy to Exile Island:

"That was Malakal’s plan to keep sending Kathy. Their plan was if someone is going to find it, let it be Kathy, keep her in the game."

On Ozzy’s trick of swapping out the real idol for a decoy:

"I think it’s hilarious. I mean Yau-Man did it first, but it’s a good move though. Why not, you know what I mean? Pretend that you don’t have the idol and if somebody else has the idol, then it changes the game in your favor dramatically. Everybody should do it, why not?"

Mikey B. on whether he trusted Joel too much:

"I mean, it wasn't about trusting him. My options were either try to go behind his back and try to get him out and then his alliance stays strong and then I'm officially out, or try to hang on until the mix, which turned out to be the next day. So I was trying to hang on and blend in because I didn't want to go to war with them (Chet, Kathy, Tracy) anyway."

On whether there was a plan to get rid of Joel:

"Yeah, of course. I thought about it. But my option was better the other way, to give my thoughts on what he did and give him my reasons of why I won't go after him. I specifically told him that, ‘I will not go after you until the merge, because I want you at the merge.’ I'm like, ‘Dude you can't swim! I ain't sweatin' you!’"

Mikey B on why he didn’t go after Kathy when Joel suggested it:

"To be honest with you - and this is speculation - that was just his approach with Tracy and Chet, to make them think that it was not a firm decision, because Kathy's name was not even mentioned. So I think he was just pretending that he wasn't decided and I'm still in limbo with what I'm going to do, and so it's either Chet or Kathy."
