Voice Cast Announced For Monsters vs. Aliens
March 10, 2008

The awesomely-named Monsters vs. Aliens will be a major 3D film for Dreamworks Animation 3D and the voice cast was announced today and reported by Dark Horizons. They revealed that Reese Witherspoon, Will Arnett, Stephen Colbert, Hugh Laurie, Seth Rogen, Kiefer Sutherland, Rainn Wilson, and Paul Rudd will all be voicing characters. Wouldn't you love to just hang out and watch those recording sessions? It's one of the 'hippest' voice casts in years.

The site reports that Witherspoon will voice the main character, Susan Murphy, who is an average California girl hit by outer space gunk and turned 50 feet tall. They report that the movie will reinvent the classic '50s monster movie as a modern-day action comedy. Witherspoon's character will be captured and held in a secret government compound. She learns that she's not the only one and she has to spend time with Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D. (Hugh Laurie) and the Missing Link (Will Arnett), a macho half-ape, half-fish creature. They also note that Rainn Wilson will play the evil alien warlord Gallaxhar, Stephen Colbert will be the President (awesome), and that Paul Rudd will play Susan's boyfriend. Rob Letterman of Shark Tale and Conrad Vernon of Shrek 2 will direct the film. This movie can't come out soon enough.

Reese Witherspoon can currently be seen in Penelope and her Rendition just hit DVD. She's currently filming the holidy comedy Four Christmases with Vince Vaughn. Hugh Laurie is best known for Fox's House but will appear in Street Kings soon with Keanu Reeves. Stephen Colbert hosts Comedy Central's The Colbert Report. Rainn Wilson stars on The Office and recently appeared in Juno. Finally, Will Arnett is best-known for his work in Arrested Development but can currently be seen in Semi-Pro.
