Nude Photos of Audrina Partridge Meant to be "Artistic"

It seems like today's new crop of celeb starlets may be willing to do what many female stars vowed they wouldn't do in years past, as nude photos of The Hills Audrina Partridge have surfaced online. However, a spokesperson for Partridge stated to E! News on Wednesday that the nude photos of Audrina were taken five years ago, indicating the images weren't the result of a recent decision.

Five years ago? In a recently released statement, the 22 year old Audrina Partridge of The Hills revealed that the photos were taken after she left high school and that she was too trusting of others. Partridge also went on to say that that the photos were taken at a time when she was just starting to model and they were meant to be "artistic" and it was a valuable lesson to be learned of which she hopes others will learn from her mistake. Although Partridge set the record straight, rumors began to circulate that the nude photos of Audrina were actually intended for Playboy, which Partridge denied.

On her MySpace page, Partridge elaborated further that they photos weren't meant for public consumption, "I intended them to be artistic and not in any way provocative... The photos were for personal and portfolio use only and not meant to be seen by the public... I thought that to be a model you had to be comfortable in front of the camera."

As E! News reports, the age of The Hills Audrina Partridge at the time of the photos was listed on the website as 19, which raised eyebrows over the actual timeline. The report also goes on to reveal that no apparent child labor laws seem to have been broken over the time the photos were taken.

So, with the TV airwaves filled with hundreds of racy infomercials featuring young barely clothed college girls partying and having fun, is this the new standard young girls have set for themselves? What was once considered a line that many young women wouldn't cross has now seemingly become acceptable for the sake of getting 15-minutes in the spotlight. Then again, who are we kidding? Nude photos of young stars have been surfacing for years so none of this comes as a shock.
