Milla and Steve Getaway
March 24, 2008
Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil) will play the wife of Steve Zahn (Rescue Dawn) in an upcoming thriller called A Perfect Getaway, according to today's Hollywood Reporter. The film is about a honeymooning couple in Hawaii who happen to stumble across the path of two homicidal hikers played by Timothy Olyphant of Deadwood fame and Kiele Sanchez of Lost fame. The film will be written and directed by David Twohy (The Chronicles of Riddick) and the MGM project will start shooting in Puerto Rico and Hawaii a week from today, March 31st.
David Twohy only has a few directing credits - Pitch Black, Below, and The Chronicles of Riddick - but is a very well-known writer, having penned all three of those movies and The Fugitive, Terminal Velocity, Waterworld, G.I. Jane, and, now, A Perfect Getaway. He's also worked on a script for The Brazilian Job, a sequel to the hit The Italian Job.
The 32-year-old Milla Jovovich broke through in Return to the Blue Lagoon and Kuffs and went on to star in Chaplin, Dazed and Confused, The Fifth Element, He Got Game, The Messenger, The Claim, Zoolander, Dummy, the Resident Evil movies, and Ultraviolet. IMDB reports that Milla is attached to Paul Verhoeven's Azazel, which could be her next project after A Perfect Getaway.
The 40-year-old Steve Zahn broke through in Reality Bites and went on to star in Crimson Tide, That Thing You Do, Out of Sight, You've Got Mail, Forces of Nature, Hamlet, Saving Silverman, Joy Ride, Riding in Cars with Boys, National Security, Daddy Day Care, Shattered Glass, Sahara, and Rescue Dawn. He has several credits in the can and unreleased yet including Sunshine Cleaning, The Great Buck Howard, Calvin Marshall, Management, and Night Train. You're going to be seeing a lot of Steve Zahn in 2008.
