Duhamel and Heder Heading to Rome
March 24, 2008
Josh Duhamel (Transformers) and Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite) are heading to When in Rome with Kristen Bell. The two stars have joined the romantic comedy, according to today's Hollywood Reporter. They also announced that Anjelica Huston and Dax Shepard will make the trip to Rome with the trio and that Mark Steven Johnson (Daredevil) will direct the pic for Disney.
Kristen Bell of Veronica Mars fame will play a love-starved New York curator that steals coins from the Trevi Fountain in Rome and then finds herself pursued by the aggressive suitors who originally threw the change into the legendary waterworks. Josh Duhamel of Las Vegas fame will be the romantic lead in When in Rome and Jon Heder will play another street magician and another suitor in the film. Dax Shepard plays an upcoming model and Anjelica Huston the boss of Bell's character at the Guggenheim.
Josh Duhamel has plenty of free time now that Las Vegas has been canceled but he's got a growing career in film having appeared in Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!, Turistas, and Transformers. Jon Heder burst on to the scene in Napoleon Dynamite and went on to star in Just Like Heaven, The Benchwarmers, Monster House, School for Scoundrels, Blades of Glory, and Surf's Up. He has also finished shooting Mama's Boy with Diane Keaton and Jeff Daniels, which should be released later this year.
