Uma Thurman Testifies Against Accused Stalker in NYC Court

After enduring the unwanted attention of a stalker for nearly three years, actress Uma Thurman finally got her day in court on the third day of proceedings, as a shaky and nervous Thurman took the witness stand in a Manhattan Supreme Court on Thursday to testify against 37 year old Jack Jordan. As Reuters reports, Thurman informed the court of her 2005 encounter with Jordan where the man gave her a card with the image of an open grave and a figure standing on the edge of a razor blade.

Reuters goes on the reveal that the written message aimed at Thurman within the card stated that Jordan’s “hands should be on your body at all times” and how Uma Thurman first encountered her stalker while working on a movie in downtown Manhattan. Thurman also recanted how Jordan first requested to see her but was intercepted by her publicist, who informed the stalker that she would deliver the card to her client. As Reuters goes on to report, Thurman was quoted as being visibly shaken when she first saw the card, "I was completely freaked out. It was like a nightmare. It was scary." Coincidentally, after contacting her family, Thurman learned that Jordan had also made contact with her family, including her mother and brother plus her father via e-mail.

Although Jack Jordan faces up to one year in prison if convicted on charges of aggravated harassment, attempted coercion, and stalking, he barely looked at Thurman and reportedly cast his eyes either downward or frontward for most of the actresses’ testimony.

Over the past three years, Jordan persisted with his quest to contact Uma Thurman via a series of e-mails and later letters sent to Thurman, one of which indicated Jordan would take his life if he saw Thurman in the company of another man.

Back in December, Jack Jordan rejected a plea deal by prosecutors that would have allowed him to enter a mental health facility in exchange for pleading guilty to stalking Thurman and attempted coercion. Prior to being free on bail for the past five months, Jordan was arrested in October near Uma Thurman's New York home and later pleaded not guilty to the charges of stalking the Pulp Fiction - Kill Bill vixen.
