Stone Temple Pilots to Appear on Jimmy Kimmel

After making headlines in recent weeks over his departure from Velvet Revolver, Scott Weiland and Stone Temple Pilots will be appearing live on Jimmy Kimmel tonight, May 1, 2008, to celebrate the announcement of Stone Temple Pilots’ highly-anticipated reunion and first tour in almost eight years.
Although Weiland recently made headlines for other reasons over the past week, we're glad he's back in action for the STP reunion gig on Kimmel. We'll be tuning in later tonight.

Stone Temple Pilots Announce New Tour at Houdini Estate

When it comes to the highly anticipated and long awaited reunion of The Stone Temple Pilots, it looks like their upcoming 65 date tour will be magic in more ways than one. On Monday, April 8, Scott Weiland his Stone Temple Pilots band mates took to the stage at the Harry Houdini Estate in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles for a special live reunion show sponsored by Spin Magazine and Citi’s Private Pass Program to benefit the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. After eight years of not playing together, a select group of fans got a magical sneak peek at what the music-loving STP masses can expect from the band on their upcoming tour, which gets under way on May 17 at the Rock on the Rage Festival in Columbus, Ohio.
Prior to belting out such hits as “Plush”, “Interstate Love Song”, and “Vasoline”, Weiland and STP officially announced the first leg of their tour while the fans eagerly awaited the music. According to the band’s official release for the Monday night event, STP will also be offering fans more from the web, “... on April 7th Stone Temple Pilots will launch a new website and an official fan club program that will give members exclusive access to presale tickets for the band's upcoming tour. VIP ticket packages that include premium seating will be available for fans who are seeking a unique concert experience. A brand new line of STP merchandise will be available soon.”
