On June 23 at 8pm on RUSH HD, the country’s first ever channel devoted solely to adventurers and extreme junkies, acclaimed mountaineer, Jobe Ogwyn stars in the truly reality based series The Adventurist, which follows... "Ogwyn as he travels to a new location each week to experience some of the wildest and most action-packed athletic endeavors the world has to offer, including: BASE jumping in California, Idaho and at ‘The Eiger’ in Switzerland; competing in Scotland’s ‘Rat Race;’ bull riding in Cody, Wyoming; wall climbing in Yosemite National Park; stock car racing in Florida; and whitewater kayaking in Patagonia, Chile."
Thanks to the advances in high-def technology, viewers will experience the rush of Ogwyn’s adventures as if they’re along for the ride as Joby works with various trainers and experts to educate viewers on the challenges of extreme sports while becoming a master of various events in just a matter of weeks.. Think of it as your own extreme couch potato adventure where Joby does all of the heavy lifting, jumping, racing and running for you.
One of the greatest mountain climbers of his era, the 33 year old Ogwyn has conquered Everest and has broken several mountaineering records over the years, becoming "... the youngest American to ever scale its legendary heights; he’s also the youngest mountaineer in history to ascend the Seven Summits (the highest peak on each continent). And, in 2004, Ogwyn made history by smashing the speed ascent record of an 8,000 meter peak, Tibet ’s Cho Oyo, demolishing the previous record by nearly 2.5 hours."
Debuting Monday, June 23, the first episode of The Adventurist follows Ogwyn as he learns to skydive in the Californian desert, jump out of a hot-air balloon, free fall from Idaho’s Perrine Bridge before base jumping from The Eiger in the Swiss Alps.
