Director Troy Duffy to Go Live from the Set of Boondock Saints II
by Reg Seeton
It's been a long time since we've seen the MacManus brothers of The Boondock Saints. After an nine year exile from the big screen, the MacManus brothers will be back, as Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus will soon be reprising their roles as Connor and Murphy MacManus, two Irish Catholic twins from Boston who dispense their own form of violent vigilante justice to rid the city of crime, in writer/director Troy Duffy's long awaited independent sequel, The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day.
With the exception of Willem Dafoe, all original Boondock Saints actors have returned for All Saints Day - Flanery, Reedus, David Della Rocco, Billy Connolly, Bob Marley, and David Ferry. And from what we hear, it's looking like fans will even see the man, the myth, and the legendary, Ron Jeremy, too. Bolstering the Boondock Saints II cast to maximum vigilante effect, Troy Duffy has also added Judd Nelson (New Jack City, Billionaire Boys Club), Julie Benz (Rambo, Saw V), Clifton Collins Jr. (Traffic, Capote) and acting legend Peter Fonda, who rose to fame in the '70s classics Easy Rider and Dirty Mary Crazy Larry. If there's anyone who knows the world of wild, free-wheelin' justice within independent moves, it's Peter Fonda.
BOONDOCK SAINTS II: ALL SAINTS DAY LIVE VIDEO CAST - Tuesday, December 9 at 3pm EST
On Tuesday, December 9 at 3pm Eastern Standard Time (12pm PST), Boondock Saints II writer/director Troy Duffy will be sitting down on the set of All Saints Day for a live online video press conference where he'll be fielding a number of questions from a handful of outlets taking part, which includes The Deadbolt. As fans of the first Boondock film, we were hoping Duffy would eventually get All Saints Day off the ground despite the many challenges he's faced along the way, which also includes changes within an evolving cinematic climate after various violent and tragic real world events.
After nine years away from his cult hit, Duffy will be eager to talk about finally getting The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day off the ground, the many challenges along the way, what fans can expect from the sequel and how the film fits into today's climate of vigilante thrillers. But it's the fans that matter most to Troy Duffy (a major reason for the All Saints Day Live Video Cast), who the director recently gave credit to and wants please. "... the success of the first film has been a lot to live up to. I’m very thankful to the fans for that and love having the opportunity to make sure it’s been worth their wait."

"All Saints Day is the much anticipated sequel to today’s indie cult classic, The Boondock Saints (1999). The film is the continuation of writer & director Duffy’s tough, stylized cutting edge saga of fraternal twins, the MacManus brothers. The two have been in deep hiding in the quiet valleys of Ireland, far removed from their former lives or modern technologies. When word comes that a priest has been killed by sinister forces in the tough underworld of Boston, they return to mount a violent and bloody crusade to bring justice to those who must now suffer the consequences."
