New Moon Casting Call in Vancouver Filled with Twilight Tears

Sunday's open audition for budding aboriginal actors for the Twilight sequel New Moon in Vancouver drew hundreds hoping for a part in the upcoming follow-up, but the day was filled with tears and disappointment as teens from all over North America were eventually turned away. After an ad was placed on Craigslist that called for Native Indian actors between the ages of 15 and 25 to audition for a part in the upcoming Twilight sequel, hundreds arrived at Vancouver's Second Avenue Studios but were turned away from the doors at 12:30pm when casting assistants announced that no more actors would be seen.

Since many First Nation teens came from far and wide all over North America, including some from Florida, Washington, Oregon, and other cities, the early end to the open auditions sparked a wave of emotions as tears began to flow while others in the crowd became angry after not only traveling far for the New Moon casting call but also had to bear the cold of Vancouver's clear but brisk winter day after standing and waiting almost all night.

Those who did get in to audition were given scripts that were mysteriously named but were familiar to fans, which contained dialogue from the New Moon book.

Although many teens were turned away for the New Moon auditions, the wave of anger and disappointment was nothing compared to the ugly riotous stampede earlier in 2008 when fans stormed a Hot Topic store in San Francisco to meet Twilight actor Robert Pattinson.
