Esthero Reveals Her Song That Best Fits Twilight Sequel 'New Moon'
by Reg Seeton

With the Twilight sequel, New Moon, ramping up in Vancouver, and the soundtrack for the second Twilight adaptation still under wraps, the soulful, eclectic and musically mysterious, Esthero, recently rolled into Vancouver for a one-night show with cultural hip-hop poet K'Naan. Currently working on new music for an upcoming album, Esthero gave the Vancouver crowd a taste of what's to come three years after her 2005 album "Wikked Lil Grrrls."

Looking ahead to a new moon in her career with fresh material after years of collaborating with such names as Andre 3000, Black Eyed Peas, Nelly Furtado, Sean Lennon, Mos Def and Kanye West, to name only a few, Esthero has also found time to step away from the music world to pop into theaters in recent months to see a few movies, including Twilight.

When we caught up with the soulful chanteuse in her dressing room backstage at The Commodore prior to stepping onto the stage for her Vancouver gig, our exclusive time with Esthero allowed us to inquire about a few unconfirmed rumors we heard that she might be appearing on the New Moon soundtrack.

The answer Esthero gave us confirmed that she has not been approached for the New Moon soundtrack, but she's certainly open to the idea of getting close to Twilight star Robert Pattinson. "I’d love to be considered by Robert Pattinson for a make out session," she giggles with a bratty grin. "I’m not into that information, call Perez [Hilton]; I’m like, 'Whatever, whatever.' And then I saw Twilight and I was like, 'I’d totally neck with him.'"

But when our own intrepid interviewing stylist, Nadya Vlassoff, asked Esthero about the many mutifacted songs of her career and which one she felt would fit best within the Twilight world of New Moon, Esthero was as sincere as the emotional underpinning within the story. If she could choose one of her songs to be included on the New Moon soundtrack, fans need only to look back at her 2005 release to find what the soulful singer feels is the appropriate balance between love and the shadowy elements of both Twilight and New Moon.

"I think 'Thank Heaven 4 You' would be really good," Esthero revealed. "It would be good to crackle in front of the romance and darkness between the two of them. 'Thank Heaven 4 You' is great for love in a time of despairity. Yeah, I think 'Thank Heaven 4 You' would be the one."
