Metallica, Kanye West, and More to Play SXSW
by Larson Hill

With the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) festival now in full-swing down in Austin, Texas, reports have come down the musical wire from the Associated Press that reveal Metallica will be dropping by SXSW to play a secret show to promote Guitar Hero Metallica while further AP reports indicate rap titan Kanye West will also be making a surprise appearance along with Outkast member Big Boi. Along with Metallica, Kanye, Big Boi, SXSW will also see artists such as Devo and Tori Amos drop by the musical festivities while fans get treated to a reunion of the original members of Jane's Addiction.

In other news, rumors were circulating that the original members of The Faces may be reuniting at SXSW for a one-night gig that would see living Faces members Ian McLagan, Rod Stewart, Ron Wood, and Kenney Jones take to the stage. Although McLagan mentioned to the crowd at a free St. Paddy's Day show that he didn't think it would happen, there may still be a bit of hope since a variety of sources report that a number of big name acts and names are still slated to make appearances at SXSW.

Now that SXSW has opened up its doors even more to become an event for unsigned bands, international acts, and now the biggest names in the music industry, it appears that SXSW is something vastly different than what it once was - an event to showcase up and comers that no one's heard of.
