Mattel to Welcome Twilight Dolls Edward and Bella into New Moon Barbie Line by Troy Rogers
Move
over Ken and Barbie, it's time for Edward and
Bella to step up to the New Moon Barbie Doll plate
given the popularity of The Twiight Saga. On the
heels of Twilight news of New Moon make up and
a Twilight cruise, online reports reveal that
Mattel Barbie versions of Robert Pattinson in
the role of Edward Cullen and Kristen Stewart
as Bella Swan are hitting the Twilight toy market
in October 2009.
According to ToysRus related Twilight Saga reports, the Mattel Barbie Doll versions of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan Barbies will be available from the Canadian online division of ToysRus and will ship out to Twilight and New Moon fans in October. The upcoming October 20 released Edward and Bella Barbie Dolls will be available for pre-order and will go for $34.99 each.
Despite the great Barbie related news for Twilight Saga nuts, we couldn't find decent links to the new Twilight Barbie versons so we went Twilight hunting through ToysRus.ca and found only one item sans Bella that looked remotely close to an Edward Cullen doll. Not quite what we were expecting from such glowing reports of Twight Saga dolls.
The Twilight Saga Barbie Dolls of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan can be found on the official ToysRus website. Of course, given the link above, the Twilight pair of Barbie Dolls that are supposed to resemble Edward and Bella - Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart - will also be sold separately.
Just look at all the Twilight fans' comments on this site. Either mildly retarded youth are drawn to the movie, or the movie actually makes youth brain dead. Which came first: the chicken or the egg? Either way, I think it's disgusting to watch today's youth use such poor spelling and grammar. Maybe if they put down the Twilight books and paraphernalia, and spent their time reading literary classics instead, or maybe even doing their homework, they wouldn't be so ignorant.
Remember what Barbie did to the female mind? Women became obsessed with the idea of being thin and perfect. What are we doing to our children's minds with these dolls. It is very true children were not to see this movie since it was PG13, but are these the characters what we really want for role models for our children. Do we want our children acting like vampires or fearing all people because they do not know who is a vampire and who is not. i know a lot of 25 ish yr olds who have a fear of clowns, because of "It". Things we give to our children at young ages really does shape their minds. Also to those parents letting their small children watch this, shame on you! Yes the dolls are beautiful, but for the adult collector not children of impressionable minds

Ok the movie is rated PG-13 and they are selling dolls. I don't quite get it here. I thought 4 through 10 year olds bought barbie dolls. Are they trying to market the movie for this age or trying to market dolls to the teenagers that are watching the movie. I think the whole thing is sad to begin with but now beginning to wonder what they are thinking.

I think that the twilight dolls are so cool, because everybody loves twilight. Well i mean most girls do and most boys don't. I'm so going to buy the "Edward & Bella's" dolls, because i love twilight so much. I wish they would make a "Jacob" twilight doll, because jacob is so hot....I LOVE HIM SO MUCH....& I LOVE THE TATTOO ON HIS ARM. I only watch twilight just to see Taylor Lautner....well see ya....remember go see twilight on NOVEMBER 20, 2009....
