Twilight release date for Eclipse, the third film
in the Twilight Saga following New Moon, is set
for June 30, 2010 but has been crammed into a
very busy summer period for big-budget releases.
The Twilight Saga film, Eclipse, starring Robert
Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner
won’t have a Transformers movie or another Harry
Potter to contend with but the upcoming Twilight
film will have M Night Shyamalan’s Avatar: The
Last Airbender to face two days after Eclipse
hits theatres on July 2, 2010.
The July 4 weekend is a busy time at the North American box office and the Twilight inclusive 2010 looks to be no different. After the Twilight Saga release of Eclipse, the long in-development hell comic book project, The Green Hornet has finally been given a release date of July 9, 2010 but the Seth Rogen movie is still in pre-production and filming hasn’t gotten underway.
Can Eclipse keep the Twilight Saga momentum going as strong as it currently is for New Moon? The rapid production and release of all three Twilight Saga films has led many to believe that the overwhelming Twilight and New Moon media attention could burnout Eclipse before it has time to hit theatres. Related to the bevy of films around the release of The Twilight Saga Eclipse, Toy Story 3 will be released on June 18, 2010. Executives at Summit Entertainment are hoping there will be enough time between Eclipse and Toy Story to avoid an overlap. Filming on Eclipse is set to begin in August in Vancouver ahead of the Twilight sequel New Moon, which makes its theatrical debut on November 20, 2009.

1: Twilight Rules and you know it
2:Everyone deseves an opinion but I mean come on!
3: Just because the movie didn't make alote of money(which I clearly think it did)doesn't mean the movie isn't great
4: The movie has made it very sucsuesful how many girls out there do you know that arn't debating over Team Edward or Jacob, The Twilight Saga is Featured in nearly every Teen magazine hay and it's even in the adult ones,if you say it's not sucsesful and it hasn't made it big then you'll be a hypocrite, 'cause in all hounesty... they've got you all talking about it havn't they.

thats not massive competition if were being honest, for one, avatar is an m.night shyalaman flick. after the happening, he should be praying that people can forgive him. As for green hornet Im not bothered. The thing people dont get is once you are hooked to twilight, you dont 'burn out' - it doesnt get old, ive watched twilight on dvd alot of times and the commentary about the same. And Ive seen new moon twice and im going again. cant wait for the dvd, and i think everyone will agree that Eclipse will raise the twilight game up alot, as I think new moon was a great follow up to twilight, so eclipse will advance as much. IMAX will rule

Ok I don't want to anger any Twilight fans...I personally am a guy, and thought that the movie was OK (I honestly wanted to hate it)...and I guess the more i think about it, the more I discover that it has a COMPLETELY different fan base than Airbender and Toy Story...so I guess its not SCREWED. Still, though the Twilight films are a success, I would not quite put them in the same league as Airbender or Toy Story 3 (both have a variety of fans and are not just limited to mostly teen girls).....well in conclusion, I hope all 3 of the films great success, and I personally cannot wait until Airbender!

I dont care when you release this movie...it will be a great movie and will get loads of money no matter when it comes to theaters..I will probably watch Eclispe and my kids will watch Toy Story..so its actually a good thing that it comes out then...this way I can watch the movie I want and my kids can watch what they want...its a win-win situation!

Actually I think that is a great week for this movie to hit! Historically almost every movie to hit that week is a success. And when movies come out that close together they seem to do better. Fads leave fast and as much as I LOVE the saga it is a fad and will die when something else comes along. Plus I have hated waiting so long this time.

Eclipse is in no way "screwed" because the same amount of people going to see both the first and second movies. Toy story 3 and Avatar. Really. Eclipse is not competing with 8 year olds neither of these two films will have the slightest impact on the series and you can be sure it will be a box office smash. When i clicked this link I AT LEAST THOUGHT THERE WOULD BE MOVIES IN ECLIPSE'S LEAGUE.

Hey Daniel, Toy Story is one of the most famous film series EVER!!!!!!!!! It is Pixar's most famous and it is not for 8 year olds! People of all ages love Toy Story, and it will do very well at the box office. It will definitely do a hell of a lot better at the box office than Eclipse will. And for The Last Airbender, it is for people of all ages also. There are tons of fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender, and they all want to go see The Last Airbender. Just like all you twilighters that went to see Twilight. So shut the hell up about Eclipse not having anything in its league. Eclipse has a lot to fear from Toy Story 3. and based on all the fans of Avatar, Eclipse should also have much to fear from The Last Airbender. So never go against Toy Story and Avatar: The Last Airbender with such a horrific thing as the Twilight Saga.
