Muse Drummer Talks Twilight Double Duty with New Moon by Larson Hill
With both Twilight and New Moon under their Twilight Saga soundtrack belts, the guys of Muse feel honored to be selected for two Twilight Saga soundtracks. In a recent New Moon soundtrack interview, Muse reveals that their Twilight and New moon success has something to do with Twilight Saga author Stephenie Meyer being a Muse fan prior to Twilight.
In an interview with MTV, Muse talks about the Twilight relationship they have with Twilight Saga author Stephenie Meyer and the reasons why Muse appears on both the Twilight and New Moon soundtracks. Muse drummer Dominic Howard recently told MTV News that Stephenie Meyer was a Muse fan and when they Meyer in Phoenix Stephenie admitted how she listened to Muse while writing the Twilight Saga novels, which are still being adapted for the Twilight screen starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner.
Getting on the Twilight or New Moon soundtrack was a massive boost of exposure for Muse, as Dominic Howard explains how Muse is happy with their new extra Twilight Saga exposure. "I think our music has reached out to whole loads of new people that haven't heard us before," explains the Muse drummer. "It's great to know that people are discovering our music. It's a nice side project to be involved in."
Interestingly, regarding the New Moon soundtrack, the Twilight sequel track "I Belong to You" was originally recorded for the new Muse album, The Resistance, but New Moon director Chris Weitz thought it fit so well with the Twilight sequel that Muse reworked it specifically for New Moon.
