The Fourth Kind Abducts Fans on Facebook and Twitter by Larson Hill
The
upcoming alien abduction movie, The Fourth Kind,
isn't your typical Hollywood extraterrestrial
sci-fi alien movie. In fact, The Fourth Kind is
a lot more frightening since it's supposedly based
on actual events and reported cases of alien abduction
of The Fourth Kind. Interestingly, if you follow
the extrerrestrial trail of The Fourth Kind marketing
campaign, which now includes Facebook and Twitter,
the scariest part is that The Fourth Kind isn't
based on one isolated incident surrounding strange
disappearances in Nome, Alaska dating back to
the 1960s.
The November 6 release of The Fourth Kind, starring Milla Jovovich, Elias Koteas, and Will Patton, reignited our fascination with alien abductions and cinematic abductees have flocked to the Fourth Kind Facebook and The Fourth Kind Twitter pages to share their experiences. As you will soon find out, however, there's more to The Fourth Kind than meets the eye.
The real question for non-abductees heading into The Fourth Kind is, do you believe? Decide for yourself and head to The Fourth Kind Facebook page and The Fourth Kind Twitter for multiple eye witness accounts of UFO sightings, alien abductions, and all things extraterrestrial leading up to The Fourth Kind.
About THE FOURTH KIND:
In 1972, a scale of measurement was established for alien encounters. When a UFO is sighted, it is called an encounter of the first kind. When evidence is collected, it is known as an encounter of the second kind. When contact is made with extraterrestrials, it is the third kind. The next level, abduction, is the fourth kind. This encounter has been the most difficult to document...until now.
Structured unlike any film before it, The Fourth Kind is a provocative thriller set in modern-day Nome, Alaska, where-mysteriously since the 1960s-a disproportionate number of the population has been reported missing every year. Despite multiple FBI investigations of the region, the truth has never been discovered.
Here in this remote region, psychologist Dr. Abigail Tyler (Milla Jovovich) began videotaping sessions with traumatized patients and unwittingly discovered some of the most disturbing evidence of alien abduction ever documented.
Using never-before-seen archival footage that is integrated into the film, The Fourth Kind exposes the terrified revelations of multiple witnesses. Their accounts of being visited by alien figures all share disturbingly identical details, the validity of which is investigated throughout the film.
ALL i have to say is that in the begining of the movie it was said that all names have been changed to protect the actual real people. The people in the movie were paid actors and if they were of different nationality it wasnt that the people that this happend to were infact that nationality as well. We are trying to figure out if this happened in nome. well just check this out if they protected the actual people then they could of picked a place that did have disapearences just to throw the people off. Look if they went through all that to protect the people im sure they are going to protect the town that it happened in as well. Ok so we dont have the names but whos to say that nobody could purchase a plane ticket and fly out there and start bothering people. Im sure thats just what they didnt want. Lets just take the facts something happend in a rural area people went missing in weird ways and there is actual video and tape evidence. Im sorry but if that was OJ Simpsons voice and Face in those videos and tapes they would of arrested him so lets just calm down and except that something crazy is happening and there is no explination for it. Peoples daughters, husbands, wifes, cousins, aunts and uncles are missing and never been found. That right there is strange all in its self. One day when we can all keep it together without creating a world wide panic attack. We will know what is and what happened. Until then we have to wait and capture as much evidence as we can until we get that one piece that nobody can debunk is the day we all find out what we been looking for. It could be a good thing or it could be a bad thing either way, It still comes down to this universe is a huge place would be a waste if we were the only ones here to enjoy it...

Hi Everybody,
It's me again. Ok, wow, so I saw the movie here in Nome and it was hilarious. I hope I don't offend anybody by saying that, but it was so unlike what we all expected. Everyone just couldn't help but laugh in the theater. I can tell you that Nome does not have a "Sherriff's Department" or a Sherriff. We could all tell that the actual footage was not "actual footage" because our houses here in Nome don't look anything like that. Our houses are up on stilts because of permafrost and every few years, we have to have them leveled. The interiors of buildings in the "actual footage" also look nothing like what we have here in Nome. I don't think the makers of this movie even came to Nome before they started production. Another thing I can tell you is that the "actual footage" of the guy murdering his family never happened here because we have never had an incident like that, at all, ever. No one here in Nome who saw the "actual footage" of Abigail Tyler recognizes her. If she actually lived here in Nome, even for a month, someone would recognize her. In my opinion this movie is a total fake. The movie refers to a few news papers reporting on the alleged events that happened in the movie. Those particular news papers here in Alaska have since sued the makers of this movie and settled for something like $22,000.00. They sued because the movie says that they reported on stories that never happened.
I would just like to say that I personally believe that there is other intelligent life out in the universe. I also believe that some of the life forms are so advanced that they are able to travel to distant planets capable of supporting life, including our own. However, after seeing this movie, I can tell you that I think the only reason it was made was to make money. I'm sorry if I dissappoint anyone with this post. I'm just telling you what I know.
~Sara, Nome, AK
P.S. The movie did make me jump a couple times. I give it a B+ for scare factor. (:

Thanks, Sara, for all of the info...I think your input shed a lot of light on the facts of whether or not this happened in Nome, Alaska.
It takes them awhile to get back to you with an entry and for the report but it's encouraging for like many, I too have had experiences (note - plural)

UFOs are often seen in the area around Coastal NC. There are many Military Installations in North Carolina and several along the coast. The area along the Outer Banks (Cape Hatteras) is often known to have reports of sightings of craft along with lights and noises. I think that we are visited but not sure about actual abductions. I think there may be some validilty to the supposed "Area 51" incident.

Subject: ENCOUNTERS OF THE 4TH KIND
In 1973 I served with 42nd Bomb Wing at Loring AFB. I was a navigator aboard a heavy bomber. Our mission was to keep the peace as we carried nuclear payloads. When we (the crew) were not in a ready room, we were out on long 20 hour training flights. It was during a 20 hour training flight that we encountered a craft from another world.
We were cruising at 38,000 feet over the Seychelles located in the Indian Ocean. The ECO suddenly had a paint on a bogey that was coming at us at a speed of mach 7. I for one, thought it was a missile launch. I thought we were going to die. From the flight deck (via intercom chatter) you could hear, "Oh shit, what the hell is that"? The command pilot and the co were dumbfounded. On rqdar, this craft was as long as the battleship U.S.S. Missouri. This craft played with us like a cat playing with a mouse. One by one we crawled up to the fight deck to see this wonder. When it became my turn I looked over the right wing and all I could see was a large blob of white light. Make no mistake I was shitting in my pants along with everyone else. The craft zoomed out in front of us and then came straight at us. We took evasive action the best way we could. A B-52 is not a nimble bird. The encounter lasted a total of 42 minutes and finally ended when the craft darted out in front of us and made a verticle climb at a speed greater than Mach 10.
Our airspace is being violated and these may not be the benevolent beings that some people claim they are. The craft I speak of was operated by intelligent beings. I'm grateful they didn't grab us. They left us alone. Other people may not be so lucky.

Thank you Sara for clearing that up for us. Movie makers will go to any lengths to get people in the movie theater, even if it means making up a few little lies. They do this more so with horror films because instead of just being scary there is a "real" factor at play. When something becomes "real" it plays into people's real fears. It's the realization that these things have happened and can happen again. When it comes to the paranormal, things we have yet to put our heads around, it's an even bigger scare factor because we fear what we do not understand.
I'm a writer, and as I writer I see ideas everywhere. If a story came to me about mysterious disappearances in a remote town of Alaska, the wheels in my head would be spinning out of control with possible scenarios. That's exactly what happened here. The guy was probably hired to write a script based on alien abductions. He found this story, did some research on actual alien abductions, found a psychiatrist that actually dealt with this kind of phenomenon and put it all together. For all we know the psychiatrist is a real person and these things did happen, just not in Nome, Alaska.
One thing I can say for sure is this is either going to be a really good thing for your little town of Nome, or a really bad thing. Your town as you know it is going to become UFO central to all those UFO buffs out there, whether there is UFO's or not. Look what happened to Forks Washington. After Twilight became a big hit, it became Vampire City. They have diners, gift shops, museums, you name it, all based on the Twilight book series. And as far as I know, there aren't any vampires hiding out in Forks.
Good luck.

Subject: I believe....
Hey everyone, I am a true believer. Even though I probally haven't been abducted (yet) I believe that life somewhere out in the shades of space exists and that we have been visited by extraterrestrials, I believe that Betty & Barney Hill, Travis Walton, Whitey Strieber and millions of others have been taken by aliens.
I do sometimes stress of some skeptics are jerks and A-holes. It's real people! that includes you Sara. Maybe the reason that you haven't heard of alien abductions is that people are scared to talk about it. Infact I do believe that I have been taken. proof: A strange scar on my right hand, I know that I have not had surgery in the past. So it must be by the greys.
They're here and have been here for years.
I am seeing this movie as a believer!
Thank you for the time. J.

As in defense to Sara, I don't believe she said she doesn't believe or has never heard of alien abductions. I think what she meant was that she hasn't heard of alien abductions as one of the possibilities of the disappearances in her area.
I believe that this movie can be based on actual events, however as I said in my previous post, the writer obviously combined his research in order to create a solid story.
