Twilight Star Robert Pattinson Comes Clean on Hosting SNL
by Larson Hill
Twilight and New Moon fans have been asking for months why Twilight Saga star Robert Pattinson hasn't hosted Saturday Night Live. Now MTV has the answer to the Robert Pattinson SNL question and it appears Pattinson has had some fears about appearing on SNL while also entertaining the idea of writing his own SNL skit.
After working on three Twilight Saga films - Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse - Robert Pattinson has yet to grace the SNL stage to host the weekly NBC sketch comedy series. After several online Twilight petitions and New Moon requests to get Robert Pattinson on SNL, MTV got to the bottom of the ongoing Pattinson SNL saga at the New Moon junket last week when Patinson revealed that he's been nervous about hosting SNL. "I don't know what the actual details of it," Pattinson told MTV, "But I'm terrified of doing stuff like that."
While the SNL decision doesn't solely rest with Robert Pattinson, when SNL creator Lorne Michaels was asked by MTV in April about Robert Pattinson hosting Saturday Night Live, Michaels revealed that the SNL hosts were already selected for 2009.
So how about Robert Pattinson taking to the SNL stage in 2010? Pattinson expanded on his SNL fear with MTV by admitting he's not much of a comedy guy. "If you're not funny then it's like, 'God, why did that guy do it?' I mean, it's difficult."
As for Robert Pattinson and the creativity within the SNL skits, Pattinson added that he'd be hip to pick up the SNL pen. "I'd love to write an episode, with their [guidance]," Pattinson revealed. "That would be fun, but, I think that's kind of against the protocol."
