Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans Trailer Prep and Photos by Troy Rogers
Harvey
Keitel had a lot to do with making the original
Bad Lieutenant a cult favorite back in 1992 and
now director Werner Herzog and First Look Studios
have resurrected Bad Lieutenant into New Orleans
with Nicolas Cage, Val Kilmer, and Eva Mendes.
The original 1992 Bad Lieutenant was a hardcore
descent into dark corners of a bad cop. 17 years
later, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans
looks to be as harsh and in your face as Nicolas
Cage steps into the role of a crazy rogue detective
hell bent on taking down the bad guys and scoring
drugs.
As a lead up to the November 20 release of Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, we're getting bad with the official Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans trailer and still photos from the Werner Herzog film, which should do a number on politically correct moviegoers if Herzog delves anywhere near the dark territory of the first Bad Lieutenant.
Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans
In Werner Herzog’s new film BAD LIEUTENANT: PORT OF CALL NEW ORLEANS, Nicolas Cage plays a rogue detective who is as devoted to his job as he is at scoring drugs -- while playing fast and loose with the law. He wields his badge as often as he wields his gun in order to get his way. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina he becomes a high-functioning addict who is a deeply intuitive, fearless detective reigning over the beautiful ruins of New Orleans with authority and abandon. Complicating his tumultuous life is the prostitute he loves (played by Eva Mendes). Together they descend into their own world marked by desire, compulsion, and conscience. The result is a singular masterpiece of filmmaking: equally sad and manically humorous.
