Melrose Place Gains Females for Return of Heather Locklear
by Troy Rogers
After bringing Melrose Place back to the airwaves, The CW has been looking for the remake to find its legs with viewers, especially with women aged 18-49. To help push Melrose Place to the top of the ratings heap, the return of original Melrose Place cast member Heather Locklear bolstered the Nielsen numbers for CW but not by a huge margin. However, Melrose did see an increase in its female numbers.
As of Tuesday, November 17, Melrose Place and The CW enjoyed the best night yet since October 6, as Melrose Place posted increases of 20% in total viewers and further gains in the female demographic, with the highest increase among adults 18-34 at 38%. Despite the numbers, Melrose Place still has more room to grow as the series clocks in at 115 in overall ratings.
