Taylor Swift Sues Sports Bar
by Troy Rogers

Country star Taylor Swift is on top of the world after Swift was crowned CMA Entertainer of the Year but the 19 year old Taylor Swift is no push-over when it comes to her songs and income, which is why Taylor Swift is suing a sports bar for allegedly playing her songs without permission. Following a Taylor Swift host gig on Saturday Night Live and rumors of a Twilight romance with New Moon actor Taylor Lautner, Taylor Swift is making headlines by the day.

According to Contact Music, Taylor Swift and her music are at the center of a copyright infringement sting operation brought on by Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), the organization in charge of collecting license fees for songwriters and distribute them as royalties. Allegations claim that an Idaho sports bar named The Sports Cellar has been using Taylor Swift music without permission and got caught.

The Taylor Swift based lawsuit filed against The Sports Cellar claims the venue allegedly used Taylor Swift music to entertain their customers through karaoke and other means without the proper license. The Taylor Swift centered lawsuit also indicates that both Taylor Swift and BMI are seeking unspecified damages.

Although we're on the side of Taylor Swift when it comes to unauthorized use of Swift material, isn't illegal downloading and online piracy an even bigger issue than going after one small bar in Idaho?

I think that she is just a little brat. That is so dumb for her to do that for someone. Oh hell she is going to sue me for singing in my car. She really needs to look at what she has. Before she loses it all. And will be a washed up singer. Its pretting freaking sad. I hope that she can read all this too.

"Taylor Swift music to entertain their customers through karaoke "

I have never as far as I know, ever heard this artist. But it is apparent some people Like her music. And if a fan wants to sing her songs and she acts like this? I don't think I need her music, nor my children or grandchildren.
I wonder does she even understand that along with that talent/gift to make people happy or sad or what ever story she sings.... that they might want to sing.. maybe even dress like "ie" Barbra or Cher ...
longg list. Will she then sue over this? Things that make people remembered for a long time. Make you famous. And she wants her 92 cents? She will pass unremembered,or slightly infamous

PLease. Fred Carr and Lyn-you two should be ashamed of yourselves for your ignorance and hypopcrisy. Taylor is an extremely talented artist who writes ALL of her own songs (got a writing deal at age 14) plays her own instruments- has organized her tour from designing the sets, costumes, choreography, the theatrics, etc, etc, etc. all at age 19. she has more talent and DRIVE than most can ever dream of. She IS a COUNTRY music artist that has crossed into "pop" ie: popular music b/c she has a huge fan base- as has carrie underwood, zac brown band, etc. And FYI- ALL music is about life- not just country- and b/c Taylor DOES write ALL of her own songs- she writes about HER life- you would know that if you ever really listened to her music, so maybe you should keep your mouth shut if you don't know what you're talking about- which you obviously don't Oh- and btw I am 30 yrs old and everytime i (and most of my friends)hear taylor on the radio i turn it up, up, up as loud as i can and dance around the room.

I agree with Fred Carr and Troy Rogers. I assume this is pretty routine but since it's about the hottest bubble gum pop star, it gets an announcement. Taylor is not country, even with boots. I wish country radio would leave her to the teenage crowd on the pop stations, but they'll follow the money. Ok. If you insist on playing her songs, let's at least stop calling her country. As for the CMAs, I'm reminded of the broadway play Tommy: Tommy can you hear me? Taylor may be entertainer of the year by some standards, may have a great video, but female vocalist? I sing better in the shower. Her voice isn't even adequate. There couldn't be better proof of something wrong in Nashville.

Please Please Please stop calling Taylor Swift a COUNTRY star. She's POP, not Country. As a die-hard Country fan I've turned off the radio more times than I can count since the little girl has hit the radio waves. Ask any Country fan over the age of 25 what they think of Swift and you'll hear a loud groan. Country is about life. And Swift hasn't lived long enough to know anything about life yet. Keep her on the POP stations for the kiddies to listen to. I don't care how many CMA awards she won, they're all about who has the best publicist.

Oh, and that thing about suing a tiny bar? Give her a break, she probably doesn't even know it's happening.
