The Lady Gaga Performance for Queen Elizabeth II by Troy Rogers
Lady Gaga has had a monster of a year with her new album, her current Monster Ball tour, and the many Lady Gaga award show appearances. On Monday Lady Gaga took to the stage for one of her biggest performances to date, as Lady Gaga performed and met Queen Elizabeth II during the annual Royal Variety Performance at the Opera House Theatre in Blackpool Lancashire, England.
Earlier this week, Lady Gaga was among a number of artists invited to perform at the annual Royal Variety Performance, where Monster Ball songstress performed her single "Speechless", while seated at a black piano suspended from the rafters. Decked out in a red Elizabeth-inspired dress with a 20 foot train and characteristic ruffle, Lady Gaga looked a bit like the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland.
Also on hand to perform at the event were Better Midler, Miley Cyrus, Michael Bublé, and classical singer Katherine Jenkins. Queen Elizabeth II attended the Royal Variety Performance with the Duke of Edinburgh. All funds collected for the event will be used by the Entertainment Artists' Benevolent Fund, which supports artists in ill health and suffering old age.
