Although James Clement of the Heroes tribe on
Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains is the most physically
imposing Survivor of all time, James fell victim
to the injury bug when he hurt his knee in the
heat of Survivor competition. After shaking things
up with his Heroes tribe mates early on in the
season of Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, James
rebounded only to find himself at a disadvantage
with the Heroes when it came time for Tribal Council.
When the Survivor choice came down to keep Colby or James, the Heroes ultimately went with strength and kept Colby while sending James home from Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains. Despite making a valiant comeback with his knee, James couldn't sway his Heroes tribe mates to continue his Heroes vs. Villains run.
The day after James was voted out of Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains in a double Tribal Council that also saw Tyson leave Survivor, we caught up with Survivor big man, James, to check up on the status of his Survivor injury, whether he was surprised by the vote, and what James did when he arrived at the Survivor Ponderosa.
THE DEADBOLT: So what was actually wrong with your leg? What did you find out?
JAMES CLEMENT: I tore my ACL.
THE DEADBOLT: How long will that take to heal?
JAMES:
Well, it was only suppose to take six months
but it healed wrong or something like that.
I don't know. Something is wrong with it and
they will have to go in again and fix it.
THE DEADBOLT: When you were voted out, did you have any idea it was you instead of Colby?
JAMES: I kind of figured. You know, I did that race between J.T. and myself. I don't know what's going on, but it doesn't look good for me. The team needs an edge and I understand it's part of the game but try to keep the team strong.
THE DEADBOLT: How surprised were you that Amanda put your name down?
JAMES: Not surprised at all. Amanda was the one that made me the dumbest Survivor ever until Eric took my title. She would get rid of me at the drop of a hat. She is playing the game hard. She does her thing. We are still cool but she would get rid of me anytime. She is a good player.
THE DEADBOLT: What do you think the major problem was with the Heroes tribe?
JAMES:
It was that everyone wanted to be the MVP. Everybody
wanted to be the top chef and nobody wanted
to be the sous chef. Nobody wanted to cut the
onions, everybody wanted to make the soup.
THE DEADBOLT: How quickly did you get drunk after having your torch extinguished?
JAMES: I definitely worked on it. About a good half hour and I was there. I was a bottle down, a bottle and a half down, and I was on my way. I had to drink for everybody else because I was stuck out on an island and I had to drink for everybody to have a good time.
